Role Description:
The technical writer researches, develops and delivers quality technical documentation.
Ideal Candidate:
- A technical background with experience in telecommunications, data networking and Internet applications
- A proven record for on-time delivery
- Experience working with aggressive schedules and deadlines
- Experience with a variety of authoring tools, such as Frame Maker, Epic Editor, Adobe Acrobat
- Able to work to customer documentation standards
- Experience in XML an asset
- Comfortable working within a globally distributed team environment
Responsibilities:
- Research, analyse, and author technical documents
- Develop and maintain close working relationship with Subject Matter Experts
- Participate in reviews of authored content, and respond in a timely manner with corrections.
- Work closely with team members to share information and ensure technical and visual consistency across multiple document suites
- Manage multiple documents and delivery schedules in a dynamic environment
- Aid in the proofing of printed documentation prior to distribution to customers
Required Skill Set:
- 3- 5 years Technical writing experience
- Strong technical aptitude and interest
- Experience with Frame Maker® 7.0 and Adobe Acrobat®
- Competent with a variety of PC tools and applications
- Flexible, able to adapt to changing requirements, scope and schedule
- Able to meet aggressive timelines
